Established in 1987 by Dr T. Justin Playfair, one of the first vitreoretinal surgeons in Sydney, Eastern Suburbs Eye Specialists transformed from a solo practice to a group practice in 2011. There are now 8 fellowship-trained subspecialist ophthalmologists consulting in the Bondi Junction office, with expertise in medical retina, vitreoretinal surgery, uveitis, glaucoma, and cataract surgery. The practice moved to its current more spacious location in mid-2015.
Retinal, glaucoma and cataract surgery is performed at various public and private hospitals including Sydney Eye Hospital, Bondi Junction Private Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital.
Intravitreal eye injections, retinal laser, YAG/SLT laser, Lipiflow and BlephEx procedures are performed in the practice.

The practice is located opposite Westfield Bondi Junction shopping centre which has entrances on Hollywood Ave, Grafton St and Edgecliff Rd, Bondi Junction.
By Public Transport
