About

Dr Sebastian Brown is a comprehensive general ophthalmologist with special interests in cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, glaucoma and medical retina conditions. Dr Brown obtained his medical degree at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (First Class Honours). During this time, Dr Brown was awarded The Royal North Shore Medal for academic excellence.

He currently holds public appointments at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. Dr Brown has also pursued an interest in medical research, with work published in numerous prestigious journals. In addition to his ophthalmology practice, Dr Brown values fostering the development of junior doctors and other healthcare staff. He has held clinical teaching roles at several prominent institutions, including Sydney Medical School, Sydney Eye Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and the University of Sydney.

Education

  • Dr Brown undertook specialist ophthalmology training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), completed through The Sydney Eye Hospital network. He also trained in numerous hospital settings across New South Wales, Darwin and Hobart. Collectively, these experiences provided extensive exposure to all facets of ophthalmology. Following this, Dr Brown completed a comprehensive general fellowship at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Liverpool Hospital.
