About
Dr Marko Andric is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with a subspecialty fellowship in medical retina, in particular macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and vascular diseases of the retina.
Marko grew up in Tasmania where he attained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours. He completed his ophthalmology training through Sydney Eye Hospital and a subsequent fellowship in medical retina with Professor Paul Mitchell.
He has been involved in important clinical trials in medical retina, including upcoming therapies in diabetes and age-related macular degeneration.
He has a passion for medicine in developing nations and remote areas. He has provided primary health care in remote regions of the Himalaya, and ophthalmic care in East Timor and the Northern Territory, particularly Arnhem Land.
Marko enjoys teaching and is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney Medical School. He has been involved in the teaching of medical students as well as trainee eye surgeons in his role as Professorial Senior at Sydney Eye Hospital, and Medical Retina Fellow at Westmead.
