Dr Germaine Gock graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (Honours). She was awarded the Robert Craig Prize in Surgery as an undergraduate.
Dr Gock completed basic ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital, followed by further advanced surgical training in the UK. She completed a Fellowship in General Ophthalmology in Plymouth, Devon, obtained extensive experience in Medical Retina in Birmingham, UK, and completed a Fellowship in Oculoplastic surgery in Oxford, UK. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (by examination) and Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 2000.
Dr Gock returned to Sydney in 2002. She has had public hospital appointments at Bathurst Base Hospital and Lithgow Hospital but is currently consulting only in private practice in Sydney and Penrith. She has particular interests in Glaucoma, Diabetic Eye Disease & Medical Retina, and Eyelid conditions.
Dr Gock speaks fluent Cantonese and basic Mandarin.
